2026 evaluation criteria: which rules apply to your file?
Work permit applications are reviewed by assessing the employer's structure, the foreign national's position, salary level, current status, sector and application type together. The main areas checked are:
- Employment criterion: The number of Turkish employees at the workplace and the foreign employee plan are assessed together. Because of current exemptions, not every file yields the same result.
- Financial adequacy: The workplace's capital, sales or export figures are checked according to the application type.
- Salary criterion: The salary declared for the foreign national must be consistent with the position and occupational group.
- Sector and status exemptions: Different evaluation rules may apply to certain sectors and certain groups of foreign nationals.
New exemptions to the employment and financial adequacy criteria are in force. We check whether an exemption can apply to your file based on the status and workplace details on the application date.
